Answer: You're not buying the water bottle, you're buying the pump. Mine is hooked up to my icemaker and it works great.
* Question: Can it fit on a 3 gallon bottle instead of a 5 gallon?
Answer: Yes, no problem, I have both kind of bottles 5 and 3 gallons, the cap fit perfect on both and the length of the tube
that suction the water is adjustable the cap slides up and down to adjust the depth.

Answer: Yes that good to have 220v, also have 110V or 120V.
