Product Description
A variation of the standard O-ring, quad ring seals have an X-shaped cross section.Quad rings nearly have the same sealing principle as the O-ring sealing. However, they provide less friction than the conventional O-ring and there is no spiral twist. It eliminates the tendency to roll in the groove. The sealing is achieved by the diametrical squeeze in a right angled groove. The system pressure creates a positive sealing force.
The size of x-ring seal is determined by the inner diameter ID and the wire diameter CS.
Quad-ring size calculation: outer diameter = inner diameter + 2 x wire diameter (OD = ID + 2x CS).

Products Features
1.The quad ring has a high stability for dynamic applications, which is the most important feature of the quad ring. Instead of rolling in the groove and creating torsion, quad rings will slide with no negative outcome.
2.In comparison to the O-ring, Quad rings have deeper standard grooves. Therefore, the diametrical squeeze is lower and is it suitable for dynamic sealing with reduced friction.
3.The quad ring has more sealing capacity due to the four lobes. Next to the four lobes it has a groove for lubrication. This is important for dynamic sealing.
4.Quad rings are more resistant to spiral failure in comparison to O-rings.
How to Keep in Stock
How to keep in stock for the x-ring?
First, do not open the original packing to keep them clean to avoid any damage.
Second, should be stored away from direct sunlight and keep in low humidity environment. Sunlight and moisture make rubber get ageing asap, and get the size of rubber or plastic material changing.
Third, once it was opened, make sure there are no any other objects inside when repacked, and please kindly use the original packing bag.
Fourth, should be stored away from electric machinery which could be produced ozone.
At last, do not string up the o-rings and hang on the nail or metal wire, or the shape of o-ring get changing and damage the end of o-ring lip.
When the color of x-ring is changing or there is white powder(Frosting appears), there is no effect on the x-rings.
