A loader is a self-propelled vehicle that serves to grip, lift, move and store goods. This machine is widely used in trucking, utilities, construction and other industries. It greatly facilitates the process of moving materials and goods, increases labor productivity, and is used indoors and outdoors.

Types of forklift trucks are classified:

1. according to the type of cargo being handled - into bucket, intended for operations with bulk materials, and fork, working with piece cargo;

2. by the type of drive - for forklifts with internal combustion engines (forklifts) and electric motors (electric forklifts);

3. by type of running gear - on tracked and wheeled;

4. by the nature of the operations performed - on machines of cyclic (periodic) and continuous action.

 

FORKLIFT LOADERS

For the convenient movement of containers or pallets, loaders are equipped with forks - horizontal metal plates. The fork carriage tilts forward slightly when picking up a load or placing it in place. During transport or lifting, the forks are tilted back to stabilize the luggage.

 

 

Forklift trucks can be subdivided into:

FRONT LOADERS

For front loaders, the forks are located at the front. They grab the load, raise it to the desired level and stack it.

These machines are convenient for moving boxes, pallets, containers.

The types of front loaders differ in the type of engine, wheel arrangement, mast design, and lifting capacity.

Electric forklift trucks are suitable for closed spaces because they do not pollute the air and operate quietly. A discharged battery is quickly replaced with a fully charged battery without wasting working time.

It is safer to operate machines with an internal combustion engine (diesel or gasoline) outdoors or in ventilated areas. The capacity of forklift trucks is greater than that of battery packs; they have a considerable carrying capacity - from 3 to 5 tons.

 

TELESCOPIC LOADERS

One of the most efficient types of forklift trucks is telescopic. The characteristics and technical features make it in demand in construction, agricultural, installation work:

• Thanks to the boom reaching 10-16 meters in height, the telehandler covers a large working area even in a static state.

• The machine moves easily over rough terrain. In cramped conditions, it can maneuver with the help of the "crab drive", when all the wheels simultaneously turn in one direction, then in the other.

• The loader is multifunctional, because in addition to the forks, other types of attachments can be attached to the boom: grabs, clamps, bucket, platform.

 

BUCKET LOADERS

Bucket loaders are used to transport sand, gravel, crushed stone and other bulk material. They are maneuverable, compact and capable of performing the functions of an excavator, grader or bulldozer.

Types of loaders of this type:

• One-bucket (or cyclic);

• multi-bucket, operating continuously.

 

STORAGE EQUIPMENT

Their features and characteristics are designed to work in cluttered and confined spaces. The main types of warehouse loaders:

• electric self-propelled carts;

• stackers with an electric motor;

• battery forklifts;
