Product introduction：
Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) is odorless, tasteless,non-toxic cellulose ethers produce from natural high molecula and protective colloid properties of surface activity and maintain moisture function properties ect.cellulose through series of chemical processing and achieved.It is white powder with good water solubility. It has thickening, adhesion ,dispersing, emulsifying, film, suspended, adsorption, gel. In the course of construction,HPMC is used for wall putty, tile adhesive, cement mortar, dry mix mortar, wall plaster, skim coat, mortar, concrete admixtures, cement, gypsum plaster, joints fillers, crack filler, etc.
Solubility： Soluble in water and some organic solvents
Grain fineness： The passing rate of 80 mesh is more than 98.5%; 70 mesh passing rate greater than 100%
Apparent density：0.25-0.70g/cm³
Performance： HPMC also has the characteristics of thickening ability, salt resistance and low ash powder, pH stability, water retention, size stability, excellent film-forming, as well as extensive enzyme resistance, dispersion and caking property, etc.
Product performance characteristics：
Water solubility： It can be dissolved in water, including instant solution and slow solution。Instant means that it can decompose rapidly in cold water and increase the viscosity after 2 minutes. Slow dissolution means that it can agglomerate in cold water and then increase the viscosity
Water retention：It can reduce the loss of water. It is used in tile glue, internal and external wall putty, mortar and other fields.
Enzyme resistance: it provides perfect viscosity stability during long-term storage due to its own characteristics of bacterial invasion of pit fungi.
Film forming property: it can form a transparent and flexible film to hinder oil.
Non ionic substitutability: it can be compatible with other additives and coexist stably when dissolved in water.
Lubricity: the lubrication characteristics can improve the performance of cement-based and ceramic products, as well as the delivery force of concrete pump and the spraying force of spraying gypsum.
Thermal gelation: when the temperature rises to a certain extent, the product solution will produce gels. As the solution temperature decreases, the gel phenomenon will disappear.
Dissolved method
1、Take the required amount of water, put it in a container and heat it to above 85°C. Gradually add this product under slow stirring. The cellulose initially floats on the water surface, but it’s gradually dispersed by the water to form a uniform slurry, which is cooled under stirring until it becomes transparent.
2、Heat 1/3-2/3 of the total water to above 85°C, add cellulose to obtain hot water swelling, then add the remaining amount of cold water, keep stirring and cool to obtain a uniform solution.
3、The surface-treated product can be directly added to cold water to dissolve under stirring. For rapid dissolution, the amount of surface treatment agent can be adjusted to adjust the dissolution time. The product will quickly dissolve to form a solution.
Product application：
This product is industrial grade HPMC, mainly used as a dispersant in the production of polyvinyl chloride, the main auxiliary for the production of PVC in suspension polymerization. In addition, it can be used as a thickener, stabilizer, emulsifier, excipient, water retention agent, leveling agent, film-forming agent in other petrochemicals, building materials, paint remover, agricultural chemicals, ink, textile printing and dyeing, ceramics, paper making, cosmetics and other products. In the application of synthetic resin, the product can be obtained with the characteristics of regular and loose particles, depending on the specific gravity, excellent processing performance. In addition, in the construction process of building industry, it is mainly used in the mechanized construction of masonry walls, plastering, inlay and so on; especially for decorative construction as paste tiles, marble, plastic decoration, high paste strength, but also can reduce the amount of cement.
