"Ecdysone", also known as "Peeling hormone", has a chemical formula of C27H44O7, an active substance extracted from the root of Commelinaceae plant Cyanotis arachnoidea C. B. Clarke. According to the purity, it can be divided into white, off-white, light yellow or light brown crystalline powder.
Ecdysterone is extracted from the root of Cyanotis Arachnoidea .It is light yellow to white crystal powder odorless, hygroscopic
and when exposed to light, the color gradually becomes deeper. Soluble in ethanol, , dissolved in hot water, slightly soluble in
ethyl acetate,chloroform, almost insoluble in ether.
