ACF (Activated Carbon Fiber)
Activated carbon fiber can be used to treat groundwater with good results. Residual chlorine in tap water can also be absorbed by activated carbon fibers. Trichloroethylene (TCE) in groundwater not only makes drinking water taste bad, but also induces carcinogenesis after being accumulated in a certain organ of the human body. Therefore, TCE pollution is a very serious problem. The adsorption capacity of activated carbon fiber to TCE in water is 4 times that of granular activated carbon. For the adsorption of E. coli, the number of bacteria adsorbed increases with the increase of the specific surface area. The amount of bacteria adsorbed is also related to the size of the silver particles on the surface of the activated carbon fiber. Activated carbon fiber is also very effective for biological adsorption in water.
Filtration Principle
The activated carbon fiber is fibrous with micropores. Its adsorption capacity for organic gas is several to several tens of times higher than that of granular activated carbon in air, 5-6 times higher in aqueous solution, and 100-1000 times faster in adsorption rate. ACF has a large adsorption capacity and a faster adsorption speed for various organic and inorganic gases, organic matter and precious metal ions in aqueous solutions, and high purification efficiency. In particular, the polyacrylonitrile-based activated carbon fiber (PAN-ACF) contains nitrogen and has a special adsorption capacity for sulfur compounds and nitrogen compounds, which is unmatched by any other raw material-based ACF.
