It can bear large radial load and certain axial load. The raceway of the outer ring of this kind of bearing is spherical, so it has the ability of alignment. When the axis is bending or inclined, and the relative inclination between the inner ring center line and the outer ring center line does not exceed 1 ~2.5, the bearing can still work.
There are two kinds of inner holes of self-aligning ball bearings: cylindrical and conical. The taper of a conical bore is 1:12 or 1:30. In order to enhance the lubrication performance of bearings, annular grooves and three oil holes are machined on the outer ring of bearings.
