Potassium hydroxide
Character: White solid, soluble in water, alcohol, but not in ether. It is easy to absorb moisture and dehydrate in the air. It can react with carbon dioxide to produce potassium carbonate. So it can be used to absorb carbon dioxide.
Basic uses: Inorganic industry is used as raw material for the production of potassium salts, such as potassium hydrogen phosphate.
