Application
Oil Red G index number: S.R.24, yellowish red to yellowish orange powder, slightly soluble in ethanol, obtained by diazotizing o-methoxyaniline and coupling with 2-naphthol. It is mainly used for the coloring of red-brown transparent paint, rubber toys, plastic products, grease, soap, candles, petroleum products and paraffin wax, and cultural and educational supplies. The crystals precipitated in glacial acetic acid have a melting point of 180°C. It is a purple-red solution in concentrated sulfuric acid, and a dark red precipitate after dilution. Its alcohol solution is wine red when it meets hydrochloric acid, orange when it meets sodium hydroxide, and red in boiling ethanol. Appearance Dark red powder. The melting point is 184～185℃. The molecular weight is 380.45. Insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone, benzene, etc. It has good acid and alkali resistance, and its thermal stability temperature can reach 200°C.
