WHAT IS ZEAXANTHIN?
It is the main component of marigold , molecular formula C40H56O2, molecular weight 568.85, belongs to isoprene, is a kind of oxygen-XanthophyII, isomer with lutein. Most zeaxanthin found in nature are AIIE-iso-mer. Zeaxanthin is a new kind of oil-soluble natural pigment, which widely exists in green leafy vegetables, flowers, fruits, Chinese wolfberry and yellow corn.In nature, it often coexists with lutein, β -carotene and cryptoxanthin to form carotenoid mixtures. Itself has high nutritional value, after eating it can be transformed into vitamin A with biological activity in the human liver, to promote the growth and development of the human body, protect eyesight and epithelial cells, improve disease resistance, prolong life and other special effects.
