F1: What is WPC?A: WPC is short for wood plastic composite which is made of 60% natural wood fiber(Professionally Dry treatment ) ,30% of eco-friendly HDPE materials and 10% Chemical additive. Due to the two characteristics of water resistance and anti-corrosion of plastic and texture of wood, it has become the preferred material for outdoor building materials (deck, fence, panel or waterfront landscape, etc.).
F2: What colors are available for wood plastic? Does it need paint?
A: Different from wood, wood plastic can have a variety of colors to choose from without paint (sometimes different colors will affect the price). And because of the special molding process of wood plastic, there is no color fading problem.
F3: Is wood plastic more flammable than wood?
A: Through the combustion characteristic experiment, wood plastic is more difficult to burn than wood. The combustion temperature of wood plastic needs to reach 86 degrees.
F4: How long is the service life of WPC product ?
A: Under normal service conditions, the service life of wood plastic can reach 25 years.Wood plastics are widely used outdoors, and most of them are used in public places with dense flow of people. They are always tested by the flow of people and the environment. In such high-density occasions, the service life of wood plastics can reach 5 years. When used in private places or areas with less flow of people, the service life of wood plastics can reach 10 years.
F5: Why is Eco-friendly?
A: The environmental protection significance of wood plastics is multiple. On the one hand, it consumes waste plastics and wood powder that will pollute the environment. On the other hand, it can effectively replace the use of wood outdoors, so as to save a lot of valuable natural resources. Because it does not contain any toxic components, it can be treated the same as other ordinary construction wastes without causing any pollution to the environment and can be recycled.
F6: What is the weight of wood plastic compared with ordinary wood?
A: Compared with ordinary wood, the specific gravity of wood plastic is much larger, usually above 1.1, while the specific gravity of ordinary wood is 0.4 ~ 0.7. Even hardwood with large specific gravity, the specific gravity is only about 1.0. Therefore, wood plastic is much heavier in the same volume.
F7: How to install it ?
A: Just like wood, it can be sawn ,drilled and sanded .As it has a unique concealed fastener system , there are no visible screws or nails protruding from the board.
F8: Is the water absorption of wood plastic high?
A: Because a plastic layer is wrapped around natural fibers such as wood fiber, the water absorption of wood plastic is very low. It is very suitable for waterfront landscape.
F9: Will low temperature weather affect wood plastic?
A: Wood plastic still performs well even in low temperature weather. However, because plastic accounts for more than 50% of the composition of wood plastic, it will be difficult to drill holes in extremely low temperature weather because of hardening. In this case, we recommend drilling in advance.
F10: Will the hot climate affect wood sculpture?
A: Appropriate span and head to head and edge to edge gap are to offset the impact of high temperature on wood plastic. When the temperature rises, the toughness of wood plastic will increase and there will be slight expansion. Please consult the sales personnel before installation.
F11: How to maintain wood plastic?
A: Even if it is exposed to the wind and sun outdoors, the wood plastic will not rot, break or crack. In addition, it also has the ability to resist ultraviolet rays and is maintenance free.It is relatively maintenance free, Sweeping and cleaning with normal house cleaner. Also you can use cleaning agent.
F12: Do WPC product need the good ventilation and drainage ?
A: Yes , like timber ,it is important to provide adequate ventilation to ensure WPC product is able to dry out after being wet. If lack of ventilation and drainage can cause the products to swell over time.
