Potassium sulfate is a kind of high composition and quick potassium fertilizer, mainly prepared with sulfate ore anhydrous potassium magnesium alum and potassium chloride as raw materials, white or light yellow crystal particles, α- type and β- type two crystal. α- type is hexagonal colorless crystal, β- type is rhombic colorless crystal. It tastes bitter and salty. Generally, it contains 90% ~ 95% potassium sulfate, 50% ~ 52% potassium (K2O), 16% sulfur (S) and less than 2.2% chlorine (Cl). In addition, there are a small amount of sodium (Na), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg) and bromine (Br), insoluble in ethanol, acetone and carbon disulfide, soluble in water, can be directly absorbed by plants, can be used as base fertilizer, fertilizer and topdressing. The experiment proved that applying 1 kg potassium sulfate can increase grain yield by 6 ~ 8 kg and sugar beet yield by 15.5 ~ 22.5 kg. Some chlorine-resistant crops (such as fruits, flax, tobacco, tea, citrus, potatoes, etc.) can not be applied potassium chloride, but potassium sulfate. In acidic soil, potassium sulfate should be properly added with lime or mixed with phosphate powder fertilizer, which can not only improve the utilization rate of phosphorus, but also will not increase soil acidity.
