High quality - Iron tungsten
Summary:
Iron tungsten smelting with electric furnace, because of the high melting point, can not be released in liquid, so the use of
agglomerate method or take iron production. Before the 1930s, small (100 ~ 500 kVA) single-phase arc furnace was used for
agglomerating smelting, and then three-phase electric furnace was used, and iron extraction method was developed.
Nature and Use:
Tungsten is a silver-gray metal. Atomic weight is 183.85. Electronic structure 4F145D46S2. 19.3 g/cm3 density (20 ℃). Melting
point is 3400 ℃. The boiling point of 5555 ℃. Tungsten forms a solid solution with iron and two intermetallic compounds, Fe2W and
Fe3W2 or Fe7W6, but both are unstable at high temperatures. The melting temperature of iron tungsten containing w75% ~ 85% is
higher than 2500℃, so it can not be discharged from the furnace, and can only be produced by the lump method or iron method. The
density of industrial iron tungsten is about 15.3g/cm.
Classification:
An iron alloy consisting mainly of tungsten and iron. It also contains manganese, silicon, carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, copper, tin
and other impurities, is used for steel alloy agent. According to the different contents of tungsten, tungsten iron is divided
into: FeW75 (including W70% ~ 80%, C 0.20% or less, P 0.04% or less, S 0.08% or less, Si 0.5% or less, Mn 0.25% or less) and FeW80
(contain W75.0% ~ 85.0%, C 0.20% or less, p. o. or less 04% S 0.08% or less, Si≤0.7% and Mn≤0.25%).etal
