Laser hardening technology is a process in which laser beam is used to heat the surface of the base material to above the melting temperature, and the surface of the melted layer is cooled quickly and crystallized due to the thermal cooling inside the base material. The microstructure obtained by melt solidification and quenching is very dense. The microstructure along the depth direction is in order of melting - solidification layer, phase change hardening layer, heat affected zone and base material. The hardening depth of laser melting layer is deeper than that of laser quenching layer, the hardness is higher, and the wear resistance is better.
