FAQ


How to choose a suitable solar pump based on actual demands?
1) Firstly to calculate the lift head, like below diagram to draw a draft.




H1: Deep well depth
H2: Vertical height from deep well pump location to ground
H3: Vertical Height from water level in deep well to ground D: Diameter of deep well
L1: Horizonal distance from deep well to hill
H4: Vertical height of hill
L2: Horizonal distance from hill to tank (or irrigation siteif no tank)
H5: Vertical height from tank to ground (if have tank)
Pump required lift head = (H2+H4+H5) + (L1+L2) * 3% ~ 5%

In summary, the lift head is from pump location "A" to pipe water outlet "B": vertical height "H" and horizonal distance "L". Lift
head = H + L*5% (L*5% means delivery pipe loss)

Note:
* Height From Pump location to bottom of well is better more than 5metersIn case of sandy or sludge into pump.
* Height fromwater level to pump local is better less than 50 metersin case of high pressure to damage pump.
* Pump body diameter must be less than well diameter,otherwise pump can not be put into wellif pump is 8inchbut the well diameter is 6inch,pump can not be put intowell.
* If no hill or no tank just calculate the lift head H+L*5%

2) To comfirm required water flow To check how many cubic meter(m’)or litres(L) water are required per hour or per day?
if required 100 m’/day water, and there are 8-10 hours sunlights in the siteso the water flow is about 100/8=12.5 m’/h.

3) After known the required flow and lift head like 12.5m3/h and 45m lift headthen to check the Head & Flow performance curve of pump like below pictures.




So the model: 4SP14-10, 3kW motor and 4inch AlSI 304 pump bodythis can meet required flow and lift headso it is correct pump model. So no matter which fatory pump or any kind of pump to check the each model Flow & Head performance curve is the first important step. Only after known the pump powerinput current, input voltage, then can only decide the solar pump inevrter, solar panel and other required parts.
