The raw material after proportioning will be mixed with a proper portion of coal tar and heated to make it become paste with plasticity.
The paste after cooled to the process temperature will enter into the pressing machine and forming as per the product specification.
In the baking furnace,the green electrode will be baked to the specified temperature as per the process requirement.
Then impregnated by coal tar as per specific prpcess to improve the electrode density and mechanical strength then baking again to improve electrode performance.
The product after baking will be heated to 3000℃ inthe graphitization furnace,it’s carbon atom structure will rearrange to specific crystalline form.
The main uses of graphite electrodes are as follows:
(1) for electric arc steelmaking furnace. Graphite electrodes for steelmaking account for about 70-80% of the total amount of graphite electrodes.
(2) used in mine electric furnace. Graphite electrode thermoelectric furnace is mainly used to produce ferroalloy, pure silicon, yellow phosphorus, matte and calcium carbide.
(3) used in resistance furnace. For resistance furnace production and processing of graphite products, glass melting and production of silicon carbide and so on.
