1. The LCD screen has reflective mode, semi-transparent mode, and full-transparent mode. I don’t know what the difference is. How to choose?
Reflective mode: The lower polarizer is opaque, so it cannot be used with a backlight. It is suitable for use in the daytime or when there is an external light source. The advantage is that the contrast is higher;
Fully transparent mode: the transmittance is about 40%, it must be used with the backlight (otherwise you will see the components or PCB under the screen), the advantage is that the backlight brightness is high;
Semi-transparent mode: between reflection and full-transmission mode, the transmittance is about 30%, and it can be used with or without backlight, which is more flexible.
2. The LCD segment code screen has static drive and dynamic drive. How to distinguish?
Static drive: There is only one common terminal COM, and each pixel is led out by a separate electrode. The advantage is that the display effect is better than the dynamic drive, but the disadvantage is that there are many pins;
Dynamic drive: if there are more than 2 common terminals COM, each electrode controls at least 2 or more pixels, and it needs to be driven by time division scanning.
3. Can the LCD segment code screen be driven by DC? How is it different from the drive of LED digital tube?
LED digital tube: DC drive, connected to the anode or cathode by the common terminal, there is a difference between common anode or common cathode;
LCD liquid crystal screen: AC drive, both the common terminal and the drive terminal need to add AC square wave signal, depending on changing the phase of the two to control whether the corresponding pixel is displayed or not, this is the essential difference with the LED digital tube, so there is no common cathode or common Yang's statement. The common terminal COM must not be directly grounded, and the display is displayed by controlling the drive terminal to connect to a high level, which will easily damage the LCD screen after long-term work.

Some of the analog bias voltages generated by resistive voltage division can also be directly driven by a microcontroller, but the programming is too complicated, and the display effect is not ideal. It is recommended to use a dedicated segment code LCD driver chip. The HT1621 is often used, with low price and 3-wire SPI serial port driver, programming is also simple.
