Exhibition

PTC ASIA 2019 in Shanghai
We attended the Power Transmission and Control exhibition in Shanghai, displaying our universal joints, shafts, and cnc machined parts, bending welding and stamping parts. Many friends came to ask and discuss with us, communicating different opinions and ideas with each other.

FAQ

1. WHAT TYPE OF UNIVERSAL JOINT DO I SELECT?
The slower the speed, the better suited are types with plain bearings. Single, double or telescopic are all available. These are better able to withstand torque peaks and reversals. Above 1000 r/min select models with needle roller cross bearing.

2. WHAT ABOUT LUBRICATION?
Universal joints with plain bearings will need lubrication (unless intermittent running at low speeds). This is normally achieved by adding grease filled rubber gaiters. Joints with needle roller bearings do not need lubrication or gaiters.

3.HOW DO I FIX UNIVERSAL JOINTS TO THE SHAFTS?
Pinning is the most common and economic method as it accepts both torque and axial loads. Keyways are possible, but additionalaxial fixing is needed. We can drill thread holes in two 90° positions, one of them on keyway. A number of special options are available on request, for example square or splined bores.

4. WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF TELESCOPIC UNIVERSAL JOINTS?
Telescopic universal joints are not suitable for cases where the centre distance moves during running - they are inclined to lock due to torque and friction. Instead they suit machines where horizontal or vertical adjustment is needed between sections and the adjustment is made when not running.

5. WHAT KIND OF CENTRE SECTION USED IN OUR TELESCOPIC U JOINTS?
We use splined both crossed centre section. It depends the customer's dimensions.

6. WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIGH DUTY U JOINTS AND HIGH STRENGTH U JOINTS?
Heavy duty u joints consist of large hole yoke and small hole yoke, pin and block style, while heavy strength u joints consist of two large hole yokes, pin and block design with bushings rather than the traditional snap ring. The High Strength Joint is great for applications that require operating at a higher torque. The joint is also designed to accommodated larger shaft diameters.

7. WHAT IS ZERO BACKLASH?
Zero backlash refers to the amount of radial play within a coupling assembly.
