In 2009, the company began cultivating shikimi by clearing devastated forests. This is the origin of "jounetsu farm" that manufactures and sells bio-liquid. However, just before the first shipment, the shikimi trees were stolen and severely damaged. This led to the birth of BioLiquid, which was created by testing an enzyme solution of Bacillus subtilis natto to promote tree growth and an enzyme solution of lactic acid bacteria to control the odor of Bokashi fertilizer.
Furthermore, the company considered the effective use of abandoned bamboo forests, which had become an issue in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The addition of bamboo charcoal, processed using proprietary technology, enabled more active microbial growth. The use of bamboo charcoal improved the number of general viable bacteria by about 40% compared to microorganisms alone.
