When the trace moisture exceeds the standard seriously, it may damp the switch insulation or produce condensation, thus greatly reducing its insulation performance. The decomposition of SF6 by electric arc will produce toxic gases such as HF, SO2 and SOF2, which will cause corrosion to metal parts and insulating parts, and the presence of water will aggravate the corrosion. Therefore, as a necessary test item before SF6 switchgear leaves the factory and is put into operation, micro moisture has been widely valued. The monitoring of gas density and micro moisture content of SF6 high-voltage electrical equipment has always been an important part of equipment monitoring in relevant industries.
In order to make the monitoring of SF6 gas rule-based, relevant departments have successively formulated relevant standards to strictly control the quality of SF6 gas, especially the micro water content. The Ministry of electric power has recommended the standards preventive test procedures for power equipment (dl/t 596-2005) and the national standard guidelines for gas management and inspection in sulfur hexafluoride electrical equipment (gb/t 8905-1996).
