Ceramic Foundry Ceramic Sand For Resin Coated Sand Casting

Coated sand mainly uses high-quality natural quartz sand as raw sand, thermoplastic phenolic resin, urotropine and reinforcing agent as raw materials. According to the different technical requirements of users, the proportion should be adjusted appropriately in terms of curing speed, film removal, fluidity, collapsibility, surface finish of castings, storage, etc. It is one of the commonly used modeling materials for automobiles, tractors, hydraulic parts and so on.

Main characteristics of coated sand:

1. Vibration sand cleaning, high strength, low gas generation and low expansion;

2. Good looseness and high surface finish of castings;

3. The shell mold has no lamination, good thermal stability, good thermal conductivity and fluidity, and the casting surface is flat;

4. High strength, high temperature resistance, low expansion Good demoulding and sand resistance;

5. The shell layer is uniform without shelling, and the curing speed is fast;

Types of coated sand:

1. Ordinary coated sand

It is composed of quartz sand, thermoplastic phenolic resin, urotropine and calcium stearate without relevant additives. It is suitable for producing general iron castings.     

2. High strength low gassing coated sand

It is an updated product of ordinary coated sand. It is prepared by adding relevant additives and adopting new processes. Its strength is more than 30% higher than that of ordinary coated sand, and its gas generation is also significantly reduced. It is suitable for the production of complex precision iron castings.   

3. High temperature coated sand

It has the characteristics of high strength and long heat resistance time at high temperature, and is suitable for the production of complex thin-walled iron castings such as automobile engine cylinder block, cylinder head, container corner, etc.    

4. Collapsible coated sand

It has good strength and excellent low-temperature collapsibility, which is suitable for the production of non-ferrous metal castings.
