Product Description

Cherry in syrup
In our farm, Prunotto Mariangela, we take great care with our cherries, allowing them to ripen on the tree rather than in cold
storage, and we process them immediately after they are picked.
They are rigorously harvested by hand several times a season to respect natural ripeness and to allow us to have a ripe product at the right point. In this way we have a naturally sweet and excellent quality raw material that we process a few hours after harvesting, adding the natural "light" syrup made with water and cane sugar.

The result is a preserved product with the same characteristics of the fresh product with unique organoleptic properties and which enhances the particular flavor of cherries, a typically spring fruit but which is excellent preserved to be consumed in the winter season, when there is not much fresh fruit. season.

It is a classic and evergreen canned fruit, which reminds us of the one prepared for us by our grandmothers.

They are excellent to be tasted naturally, simply by opening the jar, or to prepare delicious desserts, or on ice cream.

The syrup is excellent to drink on its own but is enhanced in the preparation of refined cocktails!

Company Profile

We are located in Alba on the southern plains of Piedmont.
We use the fruit and the vegetables from our own organically-grown trees, to obtain a variety of exquisite jams, whole fruit,
sauces, antipasti and honey.
The Prunotto Mariangela Farm is based in Alba, capital of the Langhe hill, important food region, has employed for severl years in its own growings the “Organic farming Method” and since 1995 it adhers to “The Agro-Alimentary Programme for the fulfilment of the EEC 2078/92 Rule”, the only one that permits, respecting nature and consumers, the eliminated the toxic residue on fruit.
Everybody knows that the “Organic farming” is an action only against parasites (noxious insects) leaving alive its own natural opponentns and this in order to eliminate the use of chemical products. From the settlement of our fruit-grove we have employed the kinds of fruit-trees more resistant to parasites; then during the year we take care of them with direct interventions caused by the numerical observation of parasites caught through suitable traps set in the growing.
This method can be adopted thanks to technicians and companies specialized in climatic adn phitophagous monitoring that reduce to a minimum the manurings and the traditional chemical teatments allowing to cut down drastically the toxic residue on ripening fruit.
We obtain in this way a sounder fruit with distinctive nourishing features, an excellent raw material for a higher quality
transformation without the addition of chemical products, selecting with care and so obtaining undoubtedly genuine jams, fruits in syrup and other delicatessen with a traditional delicious taste.
For quite a few years now, the Prunotto Mariangela farm has been growing its own fruit and vegetables, using organic methods that respect both nature and the consumer. We only use the best quality fruit and vegetables, processing them within a few hours of the harvest. This method allows us to capture all the genuine flavours intact, reminding us of a taste from the past.
