Sodium tungstate dihydrate is a colorless crystals or white rhombic crystals. Soluble in water, slightly alkaline. Insoluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in ammonia.
Application
(1). Fireproofing and waterproofing fabrics; preparing complex Compounds such as phosphotungstate and silicotungstate; as a protective colloid in biological development methods; precipitant for alkaloids; catalyst in oxidation reactions; corrosion inhibitor for steel. |
(2). Sodium tungstate dihydrate is currently being investigated as a potential therapy for obesity. Sodium tungstate dihydrate is also an inhibitor of acid phosphatases. |
(3). Sodium tungstate dihydrate may be used in the preparation of aqueous sols of tungsten oxide dihydrate. |
