Description
Calcium Glycerophosphate
White or slightly yellow crystalline powder, odorless, almost odorless, slightly bitter. Slightly hygroscopic in air. At 130 °C, it loses crystal water to form anhydrous, and decomposes above 170 °C. Each gram dissolves in about 50ml of 25°C water. When the temperature is lower, it is more soluble in water, and the aqueous solution is alkaline. Insoluble in ethanol, soluble in glycerol. Citric acid or lactic acid can improve its solubility in water, but it is easy to decompose when heated. Commonly used in food calcium fortifier, used in bread, flour, noodles, soymilk, etc. The dosage is below 1%
