Vortex Flow Meter is a kind of velocity flow meter based on the based on the Karman Vortex Principle for measurement and metering of conventional gases, vapors and liquids. It takes piezoelectric crystal to detect the vortex frequency generated when a fluid pass through a triangular prism in a pipe, thereby measuring the flow of the fluids. The vortex flow sensor has high precision and a wide range ratio. It has no moving parts in use, which can improve mechanical stability and reduce maintenance.
Vortex is almost unaffected by the temperature, pressure and composition of the medium when measuring the working volume, so it is convenient for the calibration production of the instrument. It widely used in oil, chemical, light industry, power heating and other industries.
The vortex flow meter can also be offered with integrated pressure and temperature measurement for both compressed gas and steam flow measurement in order to allow the meter to compensate for variations in pressure and temperature thats will affect volumetric flows of compressible media. The vortex meter’s no-moving-parts design provides users with maintenance free operation and long service life even in dirty and contaminated media applications.
