This reagent is used for the quantitative determination of alanine aminotransferase activity in human serum in vitro.
Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), also known as Glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT), mainly exists in various tissue cells, with the highest content in liver cells. Increased ALT activity is common in hepatobiliary diseases, such as infectious hepatitis, toxic hepatitis, fatty liver and cholangitis; cardiovascular diseases, such as myocardial infarction, myocarditis, liver congestion and cerebral hemorrhage in heart failure, etc.; drugs and poisons, chloropropane Increased ALT activity caused by oxazine, isoniazid, quinine, salicylic acid preparations and ethanol, lead, mercury, carbon tetrachloride or organic phosphorus. Decreased ALT activity seen in pyridoxal phosphate deficiency
