The main reason is: titanium at 980 degrees and 1030 degrees temperature, and iron or nickel-based alloy mold materials will form fusing co-crystal, so that the mold strong wear. When graphite lubricant is used, deep longitudinal scraping lines can be formed on the surface of the work product, which is the result of the titanium rod and titanium alloy rod sticking to the mold. When extruding profiles with glass lubricants, a new type of defect, "pitting", is caused, that is, cracks in the surface layer of the product. The RESULTS SHOW THAT THE APPEARANCE OF "PITTING" IS DUE TO THE LOW THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF TITANIUM and titanium alloy, which makes the surface layer of the returned material cool violently and the plasticity decrease violently.
