Products Description

This product is a card case created using the Kyo-Yuzen(hand-painted Kyo-Yuzen) technique.
This gem expresses a new traditional Japanese culture by combining traditional dyeing techniques with a modern sense of color.
Each piece is individually dyed by a Kyo-Yuzen artist and is the only one of its kind in the world.
The material is the same silk used for kimono, with beautiful colors and a pearl-like luster.
We are happy if you can experience the beauty of traditional Japanese craftsmanship with this small card case.

What is Kyo-yuzen?
Kyo-yuzen(Yuzen-dyeing) is said to have originated in the late 17th century, when Miyazaki Yuzenzai, a fan painter in Gion, Kyoto, applied various previously established pattern-dyeing techniques and devised a new pattern-dyeing technique with free pattern expression and rich color expression.
There are two typical Kyo-yuzen techniques: "Tegaki Yuzen," in which all processes are done by hand, and "Kata Yuzen," which is finished using stencils created in the Meiji era. Both require a high level of skill.

Product Usage

Usage Notes:
This product is made of pure silk fabric, hand-dyed and processed with vividly colored dyes, some of which are gold or silver foil.
Due to the nature of the material, prolonged exposure to ultraviolet rays such as sunlight may cause the color to fade or yellow.
Also, friction and wetting may cause color fading, color migration, or discoloration.
Please be careful about storage location, rain, sweat, and other moisture.

*Depending on your environment, the colors in the photos may differ slightly from the actual product.
