How it Works
Switchable Transparent Glass(STG) consists of float glass, EVA, and Yuguang Smart Transparent Film(STF) that form a kind of laminated glass. The scientific principles lie in the STF, when it is powered off, the liquid crystal molecules fall into a random state,that diffuse light passing through the sandwich structure and to provide instant privacy. When it is powered on, the voltage drive the liquid crystal molecules align along the direction perpendicular to the film, then visible light go through STF and turns transparent.

Switchable Transparent Film (STF)
STF is a sort of light modulating material comprised of polymer dispersed liquid crystal and flexible ITO film. When it is powered off, visible light scatters through the STF and the film turns opaque. When it is powered on, visible light transmits the STF and the film turns transparent. STF can be used in SA-STF or STG.
Self-Adhensive Switchable Transparent Film (SA-STF)
SA-STF is an intelligent film which provides a simple and cost effective alternative to switchable film technology. It is manufactured with a self-adhesive cling layer on one side (peel and stick) which can directly stick to the existing glass and switch from transparent to opaque instantaneously under voltage.
