API Downhole Tool Centralizing Torque Anchor For PCP Pump

 Torque anchor provide a simple and reliable solution for tubing backoff when progressive cavity pumps are used.Torque anchor is used to take the reactive torque given by the friction created between the rotor and stator of the pump with progressive cavities, to prevent the tubing from unscrewing. It is mounted under or just 

above  the pump. 

The Extra Bypass is a standard feature of the torque anchor that offers a larger area around the torque anchor for gas bypass and to discourage sand bridging.

Using the classic wedge design anchor blocks, the torque anchor has proven to be a very reliable tool and when redressed with a  torque anchor repair kit, a single torque anchor can last the life of the well. 

The Torque Anchor is available for all casing sizes with a variety of connection sizes and types. 

working principle

 Once set, the anchor blocks engage the casing to prevent the torque from the PC Pump to be applied to the tubing while the drag blocks remain in continuous contact with the casing.  

When unset, the anchor blocks recede back behind the drag blocks for the trip out of the well.
