Sublance probe TEMPLANCE is a multi-sensor probe line specially designed for simultaneously measurements in BOF.
Various sensor combinations are available,Temperature only, in combination with Oxygen / Carbon and/ or thermal analysis together with sampling for laboratory, bath level signal also available.
Measuring line is composed by a very precise electronic reliable high precision  reading instrument , generated signals are conveyed  to the instrumentation throughout necessary hardware ( Sublance immersion lance  )
On immersion practice Standard probe lengths are available,special lengths are also designed according customer request .
Measuring sensors and reading instrumentation are designed to fit  world standards .

Temperature and Oxygen measuring line assure an accuracy of 0+3 °C following quality standard BS EN ISO 9001-2008  and is available according following ranges :
Calibration  ‘’S’’ Pt Rh 10%
Calibration  ‘’R’’ Pt Rh 13%
Calibration  ‘’B’’ Pt Rh 30% - Pt Rh 6%  

Primarily, two multi–purpose probes are used in BOF steelmaking: the TSC (temperature/sample/carbon arrest) for in–blow carbon determination, and the TSO (temperature/sample/oxygen activity) for end–blow carbon determination from the measured oxygen content.


The TSO probe is also used for bath level determination by measuring the temperature and oxygen content differences at the steel/slag interface.


MDC manufactures these probes in a newly erected production facility in Shanghai, China. The manufacturing process is based on that of existing sensor assembly facilities in Germany, ensuring consistent top quality. Production machinery was also imported from Germany and the production process and quality control are defined and maintained based on European standards.
