TBPB is a volatile, pale yellow transparent liquid and is a lipid organic peroxide. It is used as a medium-temperature initiator for polymerization (such as polystyrene, polyethylene, and polyacrylic acid), a curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins, and a vulcanizing agent for silicone rubber.
