York Water - cooled centrifugal chiller
I. Main characteristics of the unit
YK uses HFC-134A environmental refrigerant with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP). Under the Montreal Agreement, there is no phase-out period.
In addition, the Montreal Agreement stipulates that developed countries are not allowed to choose HCFC refrigerants for new chiller production after 2020. Developing countries will not be allowed to choose HCFCS for new chiller production after 2030. Now the vast majority of developing countries are accelerating the phase-out of HCFCS.
Lubrication system
The external variable frequency oil pump provides lubricating oil for the bearings, gears and seals of the compressor shafting. The variable frequency oil pump and its control device automatically adjust the oil supply according to the change of the unit's running state or standby state to ensure sufficient lubrication of all parts in any state. In the process of compressor operation or shutdown, the variable frequency oil pump will start and run in advance.
External cartridge type oil filter, its replaceable filter element up to 0.5 micron level (about 1800 mesh), and equipped with maintenance valve.
Before entering the compressor for component lubrication, the oil is cooled by an oil cooler cooled by a refrigerant, which does not require on-site cooling water to cool the oil. The oil side of the oil cooler is provided with an overhaul valve.
Through the automatic oil return system, the residual lubricating oil in the evaporator is recovered to the lubricating oil road, which not only ensures the heat exchange effect of the evaporator, but also reduces the consumption of lubricating oil.
The installation and testing of the lubricating oil system is all done in the factory.
Lubricating oil is pressed into bearings, gears and rotating surfaces by a variable frequency driven oil pump before the main engine starts, during operation and during gradual shutdown. There is a gravity oil supply tank at the top of the compressor, which provides lubrication when the power fails and the machine gradually stops running.
Motor drive
The compressor motor is equipped with an open anti-drip squirrel cage induction motor with a design speed of 2975RPM.
The motor is equipped with d-flange and is directly connected to the compressor housing. This unique design makes the connection between the motor and the compressor firm, ensuring high factory positioning accuracy of the motor and compressor shaft, and small on-site vibration.
The motor shaft is connected to the compressor shafting by a flexible disc coupling. Coupling is all metal structure, no wear parts, long life, and no lubrication requirements, less operation and maintenance.
For units with remote starter cabinets, a large terminal box is prepared for on-site wiring, and the access cover is sealed with a washer. Each unit is equipped with an overload/overcurrent transformer (please refer to the options section for the wiring description of the unit in the onboard starter cabinet).
Burning of the closed motor will cause catastrophic damage to the chiller. The whole unit must be cleaned thoroughly and the refrigerant must be replaced before it can be used. YK uses air-cooled motors to avoid this danger. The refrigerant does not contact the motor at all, avoiding pollution to other parts of the chiller. When insuring large air-conditioning units, insurance companies usually pay much lower premiums for air-cooled motors than for refrigerant-cooled closed motors.
The evaporator
The evaporator adopts falling film shell and tube heat exchanger, and the design working pressure of refrigerant side is 16.2mpa gauge pressure. The tube body is made of carbon steel plate, and the carbon steel tube plate is welded at both ends of the tube body. After drilling and dressing, the tube body is assembled with the heat exchange tube. The distance between the support plates of the heat exchange tube is not more than 1.2 meters. The refrigerant side is designed, tested and branded in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Part I Section VIII and China GB150/GB151 Pressure vessel code.
The standard heat exchange tube is an efficient copper tube with inner and outer walls to enhance heat transfer, but the outer surface of each support is smooth, which ensures the maximum tube wall thickness at the support plate and enhances reliability. Each heat exchange tube is expanded at the tube plate to avoid leakage; Each heat exchange tube can be replaced separately. The flow speed in the tube should not exceed 3.6 m/s to control the pressure drop and avoid violent vibration of the heat exchange tube. A liquid level mirror is installed on each side of the cylinder to help confirm the appropriate refrigerant charge amount. There are suction baffles on the upper and sides of the cylinder body to prevent liquid refrigerant from entering the compressor. Evaporator standard double safety valve, meet GB25131 specification.
Detachable water tank, easy to clean and replace heat exchange tube, each tank has sewage and air outlet and equipped with a head. Water nozzles are installed with HG20615 standard flanges to facilitate on-site nozzles.
The condenser

The condenser diffuser is an optional patent design, which not only has the basic function of exhaust baffle, but also can further reduce the condenser pressure drop and improve the unit efficiency. At the bottom of the refrigerant housing, there is a built-in supercooler, which provides efficient supercooling for the liquid refrigerant, thereby improving the refrigeration coefficient of the system.

Refrigerant flow control
The refrigerant liquid supply of evaporator is completed by the variable throttle device of electric drive, so that the unloading capacity, adaptability to different working conditions and control accuracy of the unit are much better than the fixed orifice plate liquid supply device.
