Glauconite (glaucony)) is a complex potassium-containing aqueous aluminosilicate, a mineral from the group of hydromicas of a subclass of layered silicates of variable and complex composition, expressed by the average formula (K, Na, Ca) × (Fe3+, Mg, Fe2+, Al) 2 [( Al,Si)Si3O10](OH)2×H2O.
