1.2083 Steel is typical Stainless Chrome Plastic Mold Steel. German die steel 1.2083 is a chromium content up to 13% of the plastic die steel. 1.2083 mold steel has good polishing and excellent wear resistance, is often used to prevent acid plastic mold. 6.Heat Treatment
Annealing
Slowly heat to 750-800ºC,then slowly Cools to 538ºC(1000ºF) in heat treatment furnace. Then cool in air. After annealing hardness HBS: 225 Max
Hardening
1.2083 steel having very high hardenability and should be hardened by cooling in still air. The use of a salt bath or controlled atmosphere furnace is desirable to minimize decarburization, and if not available, pack hardening in spent pitch coke is suggested.
Quenching
Quenching temperature / ºC : 1020~1050
Quenching medium: Oil cooling
Hardness: 50 HRc
Tempering
Tempering temperature / ºC : 200-300
After tempering hardness HRC or higher: 28-34 HRc
7: Delivery condition
For hot forged or hot rolled bar, usually the delivery condition is hot forged or rolled, annealed, rough turned.
For hot forged plate, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed, milled surface.
For hot rolled plate, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed, black surface.
