Applications of Rotary Dryer:

Industrial Dryer have many applications but are most commonly seen in the mineral industry for drying sands, limestone, stones and soil, ores, fertilizers, wood chips, coal, iron sulphate, filter cakes, sewage sludge, etc.

Rotary dryer internal structure of the lifting plate type :

In order to increase the material evenly distributed on the cross section of the cross section and the drying medium has good contact, in the cylinder body install lifting plate,. There are several kinds of lifting plate for the rotary dryer:

1. Lifting type Lifting plate: suitable for large lump material or easy to be bond in the wall of the material.

2.Four grid type lifting plate: applicable to large density, not brittle or not easily dispersed material. The lifting plate will divide the inside cylinder into four grid, will form a fan operation room not communicating with each other, the contact area of the material and the hot air is larger than the lifting type,and it can increase the material filling rate and reduce material falling height and reducing the amount of dust loss.

3. cross shape or frame shape plate: suitable for more brittle and easily dispersed small pieces of material, so that the material can be evenly distributed in the entire section of the cylinder.

4. sleeve type lifting plate: for multiple heat transfer (or semi diameter heating) rotary drum dryer.

5. cellular type (fan) plate is suitable for fine particles and easy to cause the powder fly. When material feeding is piled up in the lattice board, when the cylinder rotates, the material is stirred and constantly in contact with hot air, at the same time for the material landing height decreases, reducing the possibility of drying materials taken by hot air.

In various forms of lifting plate above can be distributed throughout the whole rotary dryer cylinder, in order to cause the material to quickly and evenly to the lifting plate,can install screw guide material plate at the feed end of 1~5m, in order to avoid the accumulation of wet material bonding on the cylinder wall. At the same time because of dry material is very easy to be raised and was taken away by the waste gas, and in the discharge end of the 1~2m is not installed any lifting plate.

Working Principle

Materials are sent to hopper of rotary dryer by belt conveyor or bucket elevator. The barrel is intalled with slope to horizontal line. Materials enter the barrel from the higher side, and hot air enters the barrel from the lower side, materials and hot air mix together. Materials go to the lower side by gravity when the barrel rotates. Lifters on the inner side of barrel lift materials up and down to make materials and hot air mix completely. So drying efficiency is improved.

1. High heat efficiency. The principle of heat transfer of the cylinder dryer is heat conduction and the conducting direction keeps identical in the whole operation circle. Except heat loss of end cover and radiation loss, all heat can be used for evaporation of wet materials on the wall the cylinder. The efficiency can reach 70-80%.

2. Large operation elasticity and wide application. Various drying factors of the dryer can be adjusted, such as, temperature of heating medium, rotating speed of the drum etc. which can change drying speed of the under dryer. As these factors have no interrelations each other, it brings great convenience to dry operation and makes it applicable to dry various materials and to meet different requirements of production.

3. Short drying period. The drying period of materials is normally 10 to 300 seconds, so it is suitable for heat-sensitive materials.
