At present, foreign aerospace composite technology has been more mature, and has been widely used in aircraft and its engines. PEEK has become the preferred composite material in the aerospace field to replace metal materials and reduce aircraft design weight due to its strong performance (high specific strength, good creep resistance and fatigue resistance). Carbon fiber fabric /polyether ether ketone (CFF/PEEK) thermoplastic composite laminating plates can be prepared by using the method of film stacking.
Through batch pressing or roll to roll process, PEEK film can be hot laminating with Carbon fiber fabric. The laminating plates are molded in an internal high temperature vacuum laminator system, which allows PEEK film to be bonded to Carbon fiber fabric without the using of adhesives. This plate forming process has the characteristics of high mechanization, high automation and stable product’s quality. The produced composite plates can be used to produce various specifications and different uses of aerospace’s structural parts.
