A yukata is a type of traditional Japanese kimono that extends many years back into Japan's history. Here at our company we craft original yukata designs for you to wear. Historically the yukata was originally worn while taking a steam bath, which is similar to the saunas that you find today. Following those historic roots it was used as sleepwear and as an after-bath kimono, and then starting in the 1700s the yukata became widely known as a type of outdoor casual clothing for everyday people to wear. The contemporary idea of wearing a yukata as a fashionable outfit first started around the mid-1800s. Although the yukata is widely used for fashion nowadays, they absorb sweat with ease and are easy to wear, making them a popular outfit choice outside of Japan as well.
In the past, yukata were dyed by hand, which then progressed over to the "chusen" dyeing method. At our company we have successfully achieved both a high rate of productivity and a high degree of color reproducibility by utilizing digital printing. We apply each design to a template and then make it from there. We have full-color output available to use, which allows for a wide range of designs to be fully reproduced. For the material we have the option to choose between cotton fabric and polyester fabric. The yukata has a long-standing history of being made with cotton material, but we also have the ability to make them using polyester fabric as well. As opposed to the moisture and sweat absorption of cotton material, polyester material has a high degree of moisture repellency and other factors. Both of these materials offer opposite advantages, so we let you choose whichever you prefer! We believe that the yukata is an easy-to-wear outfit not just for people in here in Japan, but for everyone abroad as well. If you're interested in a yukata featuring an original design made by us, then we would be happy to assist you.

Company Profile
MARUSUGI PRINT CO.,LTD.
We were founded in 1954 in Aichi Prefecture, the main center of cotton fabric production in Japan. Our main specialty here as a fabric printer is in cotton fabrics. We utilize screen printing, reactive dye ink-jet printing, and sublimation transfer printing for our print work with hand towels, happi coats, furoshiki wrapping cloth, banners, and other products. With reactive dye ink-jet printing and sublimation transfer printing, we can print for small lot production as well, which eliminates the need for keeping large inventories, and it's possible to make the exact amount that has been sold. The mass disposal of clothing and apparel is now a recognizable global issue, and eco-friendly dyeing methods are compatible with Sustainable Development Goals. Up until now the standard for fabric production was set at 1,000 meters or more, which made inventory build-up a constant risk. Ink-jet printing doesn't require separate prints for each color, so it's possible to print directly on the fabric as long as there is digital data available. Furthermore, we still hold on to the legacy of traditional Japanese dyeing techniques. Our work is uncompromising when it comes to presenting traditional Japanese colors using color proofing techniques that have been cultivated over many years. We have a young generation of Japanese artisans here who have inherited techniques to craft traditional products. For every part of the process from fabric printing to sewing products and packaging, we do it all here in-house. This means that we can make the exact amount of fabric that we need, and not only that we can do small lot production for hand towels, happi coats, and other products.
