Trade Quest Limited was established back in November 2018 as a distribution and wholesale company. The company usually imports products such as office & school stationeries, inks & toners, printers & copiers, IT products, building & construction materials, clothing, and many more products for nationwide distribution in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
In 2022 the company has ventured in exporting of agricultural produced and marine products from PNG to customers globally.
After operating a business in PNG and also as a PNG local company, we have spotted that PNG has greater potential in agriculture and fisheries but inaccessibility to markets is one of the main contributing factors in killing these 2 industries. For instance, in Manus Province of PNG there is no vanilla bean exporter, but farmers are still harvesting beans and are still looking around for market. This is the likely scenario for most of PNG agriculture produce and marine products across the nation.
Production base for agricultural produce is massive because land is naturally fertile, and everyone has access to land because more than 85% of the land in PNG is owned by traditional landowners. Also, more than 85% of the population live below poverty line in rural areas and have access to the 85% of the land therefore, this will be an advantage only if market inaccessibility puzzle is solved.
Trade Quest Limited is seeing the scenario as potential in business, to venture into exporting of agriculture and marine products in order to for local farmers and fishermen to have access to markets. The company is envisioning to tap into such business in order to put money in the pockets of rural PNG population who are living below poverty line and in the rural areas. This is one way in which they will be empowered in order to lift them above the poverty line.
With that vision, Trade Quest Limited has ventured into exporting of agriculture and marine products. The company has attained a vanilla bean export license from Spice Industry Board in Papua New Guinea Department of Agriculture & Livestock.
The company has the supply capability and is also ready with an export license on hand to supply any potential buyer of vanilla beans.
The company is also venturing into sea cucumber export but in PNG licenses are only granted when PNG National Fisheries Authority opens the season for harvest & export of sea cucumber. At the moment the season is closed for until further notice from the Authority but potential buyers for sea cucumber are encouraged to start sealing partnership with us before the sea cucumber season opens.
