It is mainly used in the manufacture of lead storage batteries. It is used as a lining protection device for lead acid and lead pipes in the acid and metallurgical industries. In the electrical industry, lead is used as a cable sheath and a fuse. Lead-tin alloys containing tin and antimony are used as printed type, lead-tin alloys are used to make fusible lead electrodes, and lead plates and lead-plated steel sheets are used in the construction industry. Lead is well absorbed by X-rays and gamma rays and is widely used as a protective material for X-ray machines and atomic energy devices. Lead in some areas has been or will soon be replaced by other materials due to lead poisoning and economic reasons.
