Bacillus Megaterium Bacillus megaterium is a rod-shaped, Gram-positive, endospore forming bacterium. Usually motile.Compatible with natural enzymes; We supply Bacillus megaterium determines as a good bio-solubilisation of metals. There are notable bio-solubilisations for manganese (80%) and iron (60%). Amongst the Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR), Bacillus megaterium have been advocated as effective and economical bio inoculant to use in the integrated nutrient and pest control system. Application
Mechanism of action of Bacillus megaterium
1. Bacillus megaterium can produce a large amount of organic acid in the process of growth and reproduction, which can decompose or dissolve the insoluble phosphorus-containing substances in the soil and transform them into phosphorus elements that can be easily absorbed by plants, improving the utilization rate of phosphorus elements.
2. A protein secreted by Bacillus megaterium has a strong antagonistic effect on a variety of crop harmful fungi.
3. Bacillus megaterium can rapidly multiply in the soil and become a dominant colony, controlling the nutrients and other resources of the root system, resulting in a considerable loss of space and conditions for the pathogenic bacteria to survive; thickening, fibrillating and lignifying the cell walls of the relevant plant tissues, and forming a keratinous double silica layer outside the epidermis, forming a barrier to prevent the attack of the pathogen.
Bacillus megaterium functional characteristics
1. Strong phosphorus solubilisation, the alkaline or acid phosphatase and dehydrogenase produced by Bacillus megaterium during metabolism mineralise organic phosphate and make it soluble phosphorus that can be absorbed and used by plants; in addition, Bacillus megaterium can secrete organic acids such as lactic acid, amino acid and citric acid during metabolism, directly solubilising insoluble phosphate in the soil and releasing phosphorus and iron, aluminium, calcium and other medium trace elements.
2. Broad-spectrum anti-bacterial effect, Bacillus megaterium can produce anti-bacterial substances such as iturin during metabolism, which has a preventive effect on bacterial and fungal diseases of different plants.
3. Significant growth promoting effect, Bacillus megaterium can produce a variety of plant hormones (indoleacetic acid, cytokinin, etc.), acidic substances, biological enzymes and vitamins and other physiologically active substances during the metabolism process, stimulating and regulating plant growth.
