Description

 

Meta-aramid, scientifically called polymetaphenylene isophthalic amide fiber, exhibits outstanding properties of high temperature resistance and flame resistance.It is so far the best technically established and most extensively used inherently flame resistant fiber.

 

Meta aramid filament is available in raw white and sage green colors. It is suitable for making apparels as well as for industrial applications like electrical insulation, rubber reinforcement, cable sheath etc.

 

 

Heat Resistance 

Meta-aramid can work continuously between -196 ℃ and 204 ℃ while maintaining its original size. The shrinkage at 250 ℃ is only 1%. The fiber does not brittle, soften or melt at 300 ℃ for short time, exhibiting very good dimensional stability.

 

Flame Resistance 

With LOI over 28%, Meta-aramid is inherently flame resistant. The fiber does not support combustion, melt or drip in the air.

 

Electrical Insulation 

Meta-aramid maintains good insulating property even at high temperature, Meta-aramid paper made of it can withstand voltage of 20KV/mm.

 

Chemical Stability

Meta-aramid fiber has a very stable chemical structure. It is resistant to most strong inorganic acid and to alkalis at room temperature.

Radiation Resistance 

Meta-aramid fiber shows good resistance to α, β and ultraviolet radiation.

 

Mechanical Properties 

The low-rigidity and high elongation of meta-aramid makes it available for processing by conventional textile machinery. 

 

 

Meta-aramid filament is available in 200Denier and 1,200Denier.

 

 

Personal Protection

Fabrics made of meta aramid do not need any flame retardant treatment as the fabric itself is inherently flame resistant.Protective apparels made of meta aramid are widely worn by fire brigades, refinery workers, electrical utility workers, and many more.

 

Industrial Textiles

Meta aramid is widely applied in industrial textiles for endless belt conveyors and shaft sleeves,printing felts for high speed rotary screen printing machines, and scrims and composites for auto hoses, etc.

 

Hot Gas Filtration

Nonwoven felts and woven filtration fabrics made of meta aramid are widely used for hot gasfiltration in metallurgy industry, cement industry, road construction, etc. It can efficiently reduce pollutive particles in the air for more environmental protection.
