3. Production Description

Dipropylene glycol, also known as dipropylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, 4-oxaheptane-2,6-diol, 1,1, - oxydi-2-propanol, 2-hydroxypropyl ether, 2,2, - dihydroxydipropyl ether, referred to as DPG. Dipropylene glycol is a odorless, colorless, sweet, water-soluble and hygroscopic liquid at room temperature. Soluble in water and toluene, miscible in methanol and ether, with spicy sweetness and non corrosiveness. It has little irritation to the skin and low toxicity. Flammable in case of open fire and high heat. It can form explosive mixture with air. It is suitable for flavors, fragrances and cosmetics.

 

4. Application:

Fragrance Grade

(1) Dipropylene Glycol is an ideal solvent for many fragrances and cosmetic applications. This material has good water, oil and hydrocarbon solubility, and has a slight odor, little irritation to the skin, and very low toxicity. The distribution of isomers is uniform and the quality is excellent. 

(2) Dipropylene Glycol can also be used as a coupling agent and moisturizing agent in many different cosmetic applications. In perfumes, dipropylene glycol is used more than 50 percent of the time. In other applications, dipropylene glycol is generally used in less than 10% (by weight). Some specific product application areas include: curling lotion, skin cleanser (cold cream, shower gel, body wash and lotion) deodorant, face, hand and body care products, moisturizing skin care products and lip balms.

 

Industry Grade

(1) Dipropylene glycol is also used in unsaturated resin and saturated resin production, the resin produced by it has superior softness, crack resistance, weather resistance. The product has long-term yellowing resistance.
