Bellows can also be used as a flexible seal between two joints with relative movement (bus bellows); or as airflow/ducting in applications such as traction motor ventilation, engine exhaust/cooling, and respirators/ventilators. As a lift cover, bellows cover pinch points on scissors lifts or medical tables. In some cases, the bellows’ function is simply to conceal a mechanical part for aesthetic purposes with the added benefit of keeping out dust (as in medical equipment, shift or joystick boot).
