3. Production Description

1, 2-propanediol is an organic compound with chemical formula C3H8O2, which is miscible with water, ethanol and many organic solvents. Normal for colorless viscous liquid, almost tasteless, smell slightly sweet. Propylene glycol can be used as a raw material for unsaturated polyester resins and as a wetting agent in cosmetics, toothpaste and soap in combination with glycerin or sorbitol. In hair dye used as moistening, hair leveling agent, also used as antifreeze, also used in cellophane, plasticizer and pharmaceutical industry.

Application:

 A.Industry

(1) Used for the production of unsaturated resin, polyether polyol, epoxy resin, etc.

(2) Used for organic synthesis, solvent, dehydrating agent and gas chromatography fixed solution,     synthetic emulsifier, demulsifier, etc.

(3) Chemical intermediates used in the pesticide fungicide difenoxazole;

(4) Used in cellophane, plasticizer and pharmaceutical industry;

(5) The aqueous solution of propylene glycol is an effective antifreeze agent.

(1) It can be used for flavoring, flavoring and food coloring solvent, food packaging softener, food  anti-stick agent, tobacco moisturizer, mildew inhibitor, fruit ripening preservative, antifreeze and heat transfer medium, emulsifier, etc.
