Product Description




1,2-propanediol is a colorless viscous liquid which is almost tasteless, and slightly sweet when smelled. It is miscible with water, ethanol, and various organic solvents. It is commonly used as a raw material for unsaturated polyester resins as well as raw material for plasticizers, surfactants, emulsifiers, and demulsifiers. In addition, it can be applied as wetting agent in cosmetics, toothpaste, and soap in combination with glycerol or sorbitol. In hair dyes, it can perform as a humidifying and smoothing agent. It can used as antifreezing agent in automobile as well. It is also often used in chemical synthesis and pharmaceutical industry.
