Manufacturing Technique
TPE is mainly divided into two categories: chemically synthesized thermoplastic elastomers and rubber-plastic blended thermoplastic elastomers. The former appears alone in the form of a polymer, which can be divided into main chain copolymerization, graft copolymerization and ion polymerization. The latter is mainly a blend of rubber and resin, including dynamic vulcanizate (TPE-TPV) and interpenetrating network polymer (TPE-IPN) that appear as cross-linked vulcanization. Now, TPE has developed rapidly around the world centered on TPS and TPO, and the production and consumption of the two have accounted for about 80% of the total TPE. Diene TPE and vinyl chloride TPE have also become important varieties of general TPE. Others such as TPU, TPEE, TPAE, TPF, etc. have turned to engineering.
