Met coke is a general term for blast furnace coke, foundry coke, iron alloy coke and non-ferrous metal smelting coke. Since more than 90% of metallurgical coke is used in blast furnace ironmaking, blast furnace coke is often referred to as metallurgical coke.
Casting coke is the main fuel for molten iron in iron furnaces. Its role is to support the column to maintain its good gas
permeability. Therefore, the foundry coke should have the characteristics of large block size, low reactivity, small porosity,
sufficient impact crushing strength, low ash content and low sulfur content.

1.Ferro alloy Reducing Agent .Compared with metallurgical coke , yulin semi coke can reduce the electricity consumption by 10% in
the production of ferro alloys .That means ,it saves 300-500kwh electricity ,and 70-90kg coke per ton ,which can increase per
furnace output by more than 10% .From the 1990s, the mixture of semi coke and metallurgical coke was mainly used as reducing agent
in the ferro alloy production .
2.Calcium Carbide Reducing Agent ,Characterised by low ash ,low aluminum ,low phosphorus ,and high resistivity ,semi coke is
widely used in calcium carbide industry ,which can reduce energy consumption and costs ,and improve products quality
significantly.
