Kaolin is a mixture of inorganic non-metals. Calcined kaolin is sintering kaolin in a calciner to a certain temperature and time, which changes its physical and chemical properties to meet a certain requirement.

Compared with un-calcined kaolin, clacined kaolin has lower combined water content, lower silica and aluminum content, increased active points, changed structure, smaller and uniform particle size. 

 

The calcined kaolin is widely used in the application of refractory and paints.
