Standardized thermocouples In China, since January 1, 1988, thermocouples and themal resistors have all been produced according to IEC standards, and seven kinds of standardized thermocouples, S, B, E, K, R, J and T, are designated, which are designed thermocouples in China.

Because thermocouple materials are generally expensive (especially when precious metals are used), and the distance from the temperature measuring point to the instrument is verylong, in order to save thermocouple materials and reduce costs, compensaton wires are usually used to extend the cold end (freeend) ofthermocouple to the control room with relatively stable temperature and connect it to the instrument terminals.
The thermocouple compensation wire only serves to extend the hot electrode, so that the cold end of the thermocouple moves to the instrument terminal in the control room.
It cannot eliminate the influence of the cold end temperature change on the temperature measurement by itself, and has no compensation effect. Therefore, other correction methods should be adopted to compensate the influence of cold end temperature to + 0C on temperature measurement.
When using thermocouple compensation wire, pay attention to the matching model, the polarity should not be wrong, and the temperature at the connection end between compensation wire and thermocouple should not exceed 100 C..
